LPY Law Group recently obtained approval of both a Form I-601, Application for Waiver of Grounds of Inadmissibility, and the Client’s Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, after USCIS raised Chinese Communist Party (CCP) membership as a ground of inadmissibility.
On March 23, 2026, USCIS approved the Client's Form I-601 waiver after determining that the Client was inadmissible under INA § 212(a)(3)(D) based on former membership in the Chinese Communist Party. Following approval of the waiver, USCIS subsequently approved the Client's Form I-485, allowing the Client to obtain permanent resident status in the United States.
